Why Sho Recommends This Tour

Tips and recommendations by our official guides

I've spent more nights bar-hopping in Shibuya than I can count — and the best one started when a senpai pulled me into a sake bar I never would have found alone. Turns out, the best version of Shibuya doesn't show up on any map.
We kick things off in Oku-Shibuya — a quiet plateau just ten minutes from the scramble where independent spots have held their ground for decades. From there, we dive into Center-gai for a classic izakaya: cold drinks, great snacks, and that buzzing energy that makes Tokyo nights feel alive. We finish at a hidden sake bar pouring carefully selected sake from breweries across Japan — every stop on this tour was handpicked by me and my fellow izakaya-hoppers, so you get the best of Shibuya without the legwork.
This tour is perfect for anyone who just landed in Tokyo and wants a real first night out, or is simply ready to drink where locals actually drink.
Every tour has its own chemistry — you, your guide, and a small group of fellow travelers who all ended up in the same hidden corner of Shibuya on the same night. By the last stop, the table always feels like old friends. Never loved sake before? Just like wine, the right bottle changes everything — and finding yours is half the fun.

This Is the Shibuya Your Friends Don't Know About Yet

We kick things off with Japan's iconic pre-drinking turmeric shot — a local ritual before a big night out. Then step into Oku-Shibuya, a quiet plateau just minutes from the scramble that escaped the developers and stayed deliciously local. Your guide explains why over a curated course at one of the neighborhood's most beloved izakayas. Great food, great stories — and the night has only just begun.

The Night Gets Loud — in the Best Way

If Oku-Shibuya never changed, Center-gai never stopped reinventing itself. Your guide shares how this neon-lit street became what it is — then it's time to become part of the scene. Share plates, clink glasses at a lively local izakaya packed with Tokyo energy. By the time you leave, that stranger next to you feels like an old friend. Cap it off with a group photo at the Scramble Crossing.

One Sip and You'll Never Look at Sake the Same Way

Just steps from the crossing, down a street most visitors walk right past, is a sake bar that locals actually go to. Taste sake from breweries across Japan — poured into wine glasses, the way it deserves. Your guide will decode the labels and help you find the bottle that clicks for you. End the night on a high — stay for another round, or head out to explore more. Shibuya is yours.
