Hello. I'm Shoto!
Kyoto is a very special place in Japan where you can really feel the authentic and traditional Japan. This is because Kyoto used to be the capital of Japan for 1,000 years, and a lot of Japanese culture started here. Just by walking around the streets, you can feel the ancient times of Japan. This feeling gets even more magical at night when the izakaya lights go on, and local go out to enjoy some drinks and good food.
Kyoto's restaurants and Bar look very different from other Japanese areas, and it's often hard to get in even for local Japanese because some places looks too deep and elegant. In our food tour, a friendly local guide will take you to three different izakaya and restaurants that are normally hard to find for tourists.
There we can eat and drink together like the locals do. Each of these izakayas has a strong concept and atmosphere. At first, we walk around Gion area for the first Izakaya. Around the streets, we can see many Old Kyoto style building called Machiya architecture.
In the first tavern, we enjoy kyoto vegetable or meats with simple seasoning for tasting ingredient's pure taste.
At the second bar, we enjoy nice appetizer matching with alcohol in retro (Showa) atmosphere.
Finally, we'll go to a standing bar where local people gather and try many kinds of sake and alcohol with lively atmosphere.
