Tips and recommendations by our official guides

Enjoying delicious dishes with sake is one of the Japanese traditions, and we are really proud of it. Sake has the power to make beautifully arranged dishes even tastier and deepen our relationships. The charm of sake is one of the reasons why we become more attractive as we age. I would like foreigners to appreciate this charm by learning about its history and the variety of tastes it offers.

With a history spanning over 2,000 years, sake has played a significant role in Japanese culture. Sake is not only consumed during social gatherings with friends but also offered to gods or used in ceremonies.

The Fushimi region, renowned for its quality water, is recognized as one of the three major sake brewing areas and has operated since ancient times. We hope you'll appreciate Fushimi's breathtaking scenery, its breweries, and the aroma, flavor, and depth of sake.

During this tour, you will explore one of the largest sake breweries in Kyoto and discover the perfect sake for you by tasting 18 varieties of Kyoto-made sake at a hidden sake bar.

Globally, sake is gaining popularity. Although consumption is at an all-time high, the variety imported from foreign countries remains limited. In Japan, there are countless unique types of sake available. So, if this tour appeals to you, please join us and savor the many types of sake exclusive to Japan.

Even if you're unfamiliar with sake, you're welcome to join this tour. You'll learn about sake step-by-step, from its history and brewing process to distinguishing its various flavors.

If you're passionate about sake and wish to explore more in other cities, we also offer a Sake Tasting Tour in Tokyo. On this tour, you'll have the opportunity to sample different types of sake at Tokyo's historic sake bars, each with its unique atmosphere. Check out the Tokyo Sake Tasting Tour on the Tokyo page!
