Why Akiko Recommends This Tour

Tips and recommendations by our official guides

Many tours in Kyoto offer a quick 1-hour "Geisha show" where you just watch a dance from afar. But if you have been dreaming of meeting a Maiko for years, you deserve more than just a show—you deserve a genuine connection! That is why I made this immersive 3.5-hour experience.

We will start with a stroll through Gion, diving into the history of Maiko (Geisha) town. (In Kyoto, “geisha” is not the usual local term. A young apprentice is called maiko, while a fully trained traditional performer is called geiko.)
Then, we will enter a stunning Machiya restaurant for a premium seasonal Kyoto dinner with unlimited drinks.

The true magic happens when the Maiko arrives. Our guide will act as your personal translator, allowing you to converse with her for a long time, ask about her daily life, and truly understand her world. We won't just watch her mesmerizing dance; we will share lots of laughs playing traditional "Ozashiki Asobi" games together! Join our intimate small group for a once-in-a-lifetime highlight, perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or making your ultimate Japan dream come true!
