It was well organized and the streets we walked through and small food spots we ate at took us to areas we didn't know about yet, but returned to because the ambiance was so nice. Thank you Nami for your wealth of information, and friendliness. You spoke really good English and made sure we learned some history and ate good food with a reason and story behind it. Well done! We really enjoyed ourselves and getting to know you.

Nami did a great job showing us around the Gion area and guiding us through some delicious food and drinks. She was energetic, fun and knowledgeable.  If you want a relaxing, authentic and fun experience, this tour is for you.

We had a fabulous time with Nami! We went to izakaya bars we would have never seen without a guide. Nami taught us about the history of Pontocho, showed us how to read the sake bottles to learn about their qualities, and had fascinating discussions about Japanese culture. Highly recommend this experience, was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. Thank you Nami!!

We have only good things to say about Nami-san and the tour we were taken on. Nami was a fantastic host, full of interesting facts about Kyoto and most of all great company to drink with!The places we were taken were all great as well, felt to us like a more 'local' experience than we would have had on our own and all the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating. Really recommend this tour if you have a free night in Kyoto!

Dessert was amazing after our adventure throughout Kyoto's streets. Nami was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. Will recommend for first timers. Heck, we traveled into Kyoto just to experience this tour!

This tour was very much worth it! Our guide Nami was knowledgeable about the area and easygoing, and a pleasant young lady. We met with her and the other folks on the tour (also from the USA) and took a short walk through some of the side streets where Nami told us some small facts about the history, the districts, and the architecture before going inside to eat and drink. Nami’s English is very good, and was even willing to help me with practicing some Japanese. We went to three spots in total, all of which had drinks and small food dishes to enjoy while talking. We would not have known how to find spots like these otherwise, so it was definitely worth it. All in all, the experience is a few hours long and everyone left with a smile on their face.

Really enjoyed our time with Nomi (sorry for spelling),  we had a small group but she showed us around Kyoto and I did really like the private bars so we could drink and chat. It was our first time in Kyoto and I felt this helped lay some of the foundational knowledge about the history of the city.

Such a blast! Nami and Chihiro are great guides, super friendly and personable, have tons of great facts about Kyoto, and are generally just very cool to hang out with. The places we visited felt very cool and local - not places we would've found on our own. Seriously one of the highlights of our trip.

Our tour guides, Nami and Chihiro, were extremely knowledgeable and also were great drinking partners.  They did a great job teaching us about the area and handling our orders.  They were also very fun to hang out with.  By the end of the tour we were having so much fun together I wish we could have kept hanging out all night.  11/10 experience.  Highly recommend.

Genuinely one of the best parts of our trip. This tour is a ton of fun, with drinks, food, and izakaya locations that make you really feel like a local. Nami and Chihiro are a BLAST. They're so easy to talk to and fun to hang out with, it's easy to forget you're on a tour and not just hanging out with friends. I'd do this tour again in a heartbeat. Unbeatable. Already want to come back.

Nani was excellent! We had such a great time. She was early and so friendly from the very start. By the end of the tour, we were full of incredible food and sake!! Nami was just exceptional. She even played with our 20 month old that came on the trip! Would recommend 100/10

An excellent way to discover through food!  Nami was our host and she is the BEST!  She is super well informed of the history and interesting information about the area, but she really speaks through the food, and it’s all amazing!  We learned a lot!

Nami was a super fun guide!  We had a great time talking with her and thoroughly enjoyed the tempura dinner, sake tasting and dessert stops during the tour.  Her English seems exceptionally clear and fluent, which definitely made for fun conversation.

Nami was the best!  Not only were the incredibly knowledgeable about every dish we had, but also was an amazing conversationalist.  I’ve been on other tours where the guide will have extensive knowledge about the topic, but lack the ability to bring the group together. Not Nami! Our particular group felt like a bunch of old friends hanging out because of their ability to make us feel welcome.

The tour was excellent! Nani our guide took us to 3 different bars for food and drinks and we all had a blast. There were only 3 of us on the tour - a couple and a lone traveller and by the end we were all pals. Highly recommend!

What a great experience and SO glad we did it. Our guide, Nami, was so lovely and fun. The restaurant choices and food were amazing, as were the drinks, especially the local sake! Our guide Nami was great! They were funny, friendly and showed our small group a great time. The food at the three places had a great selection of small plates and all were delicious. The night ending at karaoke with a live drummer was a real plus and the staff there were soooooo nice and welcoming Very fun experience, would recommend

We went to the same tour with our (for the day) private guide Nami. A really nice guide, who could tell us a lot about sake & as someone who’s never had sake it was nice to get to know the basics. I really enjoyed the tour. We could drink in total 22 different sakes.

Our best night in Japan! It was a wonderful time getting to meet Nami. We learned much about Kyoto history, architecture, and food culture. All of the restaurants we went to were fantastic and were places that we likely couldn't find on our own. The first place, Gion Hitsuji Obanzai, was a small yet comfortable place run by the kindest owners. The omakase dinner we had there was delicious and getting to chat with Nami about our different cultures and interest made it all a meal that we won't forget. Thanks again to Nami for a great night and for taking us in on such short notice. 

Amazing tour! Great food in spots you would never find on your own. And beautiful walks through Kyoto in between each restaurant. Nami was a fantastic guide!

Me and partner loved the tour. We have done several food tours before and this one did not disappoint. Nami is an excellent guide and allows you to experience dining at businesses that would otherwise struggle to serve English speaking customers. 3 stops including a more formal meal, a casual snack with drink, and finished with a dessert. I highly recommend this for first timers who want to try as much food as they can in Kyoto.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was Nomi from Osaka. She was friendly and proactive in telling us lots of interesting facts about Kyoto, Japanese food and traditions. She did her best to answer all of our questions. Nomi took is to places for food that looked very traditional and off the beaten track, where we would have never gotten into without a local. This made our experience very unique. Nomi spoke excellent English and we found it easy to communicate with her.

We had a very good food tour with Nami. Good food and great conversations.We had Kaiseke dinner, followed by Izakaya and finally desserts.

What an amazing evening, best tour ever! Nami was a delight and we had such a fun small group. The food and drink choices were divine. Every time I thought we must be at the end of the bar hopping, we headed to another! This was great to do on our first night in Kyoto because we knew exactly where to head the following day.  So lucky to get a place because these tours understandably book out early!

This was a perfect way to explore the heart of Kyoto on a first ever night in the city — great food, met great people, and got a good entry experience into Gion and Pontocho areas among other spots for getting a lay of the land.
