We had a really nice morning/afternoon together with Hitomi. She was fun, warm, and knowledgeable. It felt like being with a friend (and her English was perfect). We saw small shops away from the main streets, and had lunch at a very cozy hidden little gem. The Samurai experience itself was lots of fun.

We loved every tour with Magical Trip,  but the boat and our host was the most magical way to end our time in Japan. Hitomi would be my bestie if we lived in Tokyo! <3

Hitomi was a total delight.  She was refreshingly fun, informative and creative besides personable.  We love the places she chose for us to see and experience.  She even incorparated a 'walk by' of the meeting place for our tour the following day, to help us locate it.  She made us laugh and she taught us some of the local culture.  She was able to answer all our questions too.  We wanted to keep her!!

Hitomi was such a great and entertaining tour guide of the Tsukiji fish market. She made us laugh but along the way, we learned a lot from her as well. She asked several times if we wanted to stop and try different food items and introduced us to many that we've never even heard before. She was a joy to walk around the fish market and even took us to Ginza after.

Hitomi our tour guide was absolutely amazing, so friendly, perfect English and gave us so many good recommendations. We were the only ones on the tour so it was particularly good. We loved walking the streets and learning lots from Hitomi. The lunch experience was very unique and fun (also so delicious!) If we come back to Tokyo we will definitely want to have Hitomi take us on another tour!

My daughter and I spend some really interesting and fun hours with Hitome in the area around Iidabashi station. We tasted lovely decorated sweets, had coffee, saw a small place with production of tofu, visited a Temple, had fantastic Samurai training and went for a lovely lunch at a really nice restaurant.Hitome had great knowledge of history, old and new culture and it was a pleasure to spend time with her.

Hitomi-san was very knowledgeable and fun. She shared interesting facts about Sensoji Temple and took time for us to look around and soak it in. The matcha making course was super interesting!  Making otomomiyaki in Japanese restaurant was a good experience. The group size was perfect. I highly recommend this tour!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So much food and our guide Hitomi was very engaging and fun. There was 3 couples but I felt like Hitomi gave each of us individual attention.

This was one of the coolest tours we’ve ever been on. Hitomi was fantastic, and the small group size was so intimate.The matcha class was so fun (and delicious) and the Okonomiyaki was SO TASTY!

I didn’t know what to fully expect from the tour other than perhaps a walk through an old village/city where our tour guide would point out historical sites, and that we would visit a museum or something dedicated to samurai. Interesting for sure, but nothing too exciting. My first surprise was that there was no “we” - I was the only one booked for the tour! I panicked a bit not sure how having a tour ALL to myself would go, but my guide, Hitome, quickly put me at ease with her personality. She showed no sign of dismay that I would be her only customer that day and was cheerful, upbeat, and personable - even in the heat and humidity of the day. Kagurazaka is far from the old village I had envisioned, though there are definitely old buildings and offshoots that we walked past and through. It was delightful to see the blending of the old with the new - which is a major factor in why I wanted to visit Japan.  Along the way, Hitome took us to a few temples and shrines, giving brief historical facts about each. She had a folder of sheet-protected facts and drawings that helped provide a visual to her spoken information. Though not my culture or beliefs per se, it was an honor to observe in my own way these important cultural facets, and nice to see the citizens still visiting and showing respect to them as well. We also stopped at a few places for snacks and drinks (iced tea). The first establishment was a tofu company that had been in business for over a hundred years. Small, and not too much to see, but still cool. Hitome mentioned that we should get something to eat there and that’s when I thought “okay, here’s where I have to start paying for every place we visit” but she quickly told me that no - it was already paid for! The next few food stops were less significant (a convenience store and a place to get what I would call bao), but still tasty! A bit more walking and we eventually arrived at the theater. There, we were greeted by the actors (I unfortunately didn’t get their names) that were dressed in traditional samurai clothing. To my surprise, I was informed that both Hitome and I would also be outfitted and I got to choose my clothing. We were assisted by the actors and then shown seats where they gave us a demo on a sword battle. Rather than focusing on a detailed history of the samurai (I think Hitome’s folder helped with that), the actors focused on the swordplay - stances, correct holding positions, nomenclature of the sword parts, etc. After each mini lesson, we were given the chance to stand and execute what we learned. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we both got (wooden) swords of our own! Finally, the actors taught us the choreography for the skit we first saw them do when we entered and we got to act it out - complete with dramatic music and sound effects. I was too nervous to see if I recognized my music, but Hitome’s was from one of the seasons of My Hero Academia, which I thought was cool/funny when I recognized it. The entire thing was amazing! I would definitely recommend this theater and experience to others. After leaving the theater, Hitome took us to get lunch at a quaint restaurant. The food was tasty but I enjoyed the conversation with Hitome perhaps even more. She seemed very open and friendly and like she really enjoyed her job, though I didn’t really feel like I was “just another client”. We talked about our families and experiences, corrected each others’ languages (her English is light years better than my Japanese), and she gave me tips on other fun things to do while in Japan. After lunch we stopped by a gift shop and I only mention this because like at the gift shop and the temples and shrines we visited, Hitome would say something like: oh people like to buy this or that, or this would make a good gift - which I think is part of her job, but I never felt pressured into buying anything at all. She made it seem (and perhaps it really was) like it was just a suggestion of things I might not know about.By the time we departed - I felt that I had a very enjoyable experience and sure, that I had made a new friend. I would certainly recommend this tour to others, though I strongly believe that Hitome made it as enjoyable as it was, so book her if you can! I would also recommend perhaps not eating too large of a breakfast as the snacks and lunch provided were filling, and that the tour be booked not in very hot/humid seasons. One more thing I will admit - had I read my tour itinerary more closely, I would have been less surprised by the events that took place since they were all described there, ha!

This tour was exactly what I was hoping for! Touring the 400+ food stalls, and being able to try the street food was great. I have been wanting a hand made Japanese knife, so I was so very excited to be able to shop between 2 different knife shops. Hitomi was knowledgeable and so very friendly, she made the experience even better. Thank you!

Had Hitomi as our guide. She was lovely, English was good, and had great knowledge of the Harajuku district (she spends personal time there with her own family). Was sufficient exposure to the district that we capitalized on later when we had more time to visit on our own.

The visit “Asakusa Cultural Walk & Matcha Making Tour” with our guide Hitomi was a great time during my stay in Tokyo. Hitomi is passionate, warm and very funny. She introduced me to the history and secrets of Asakusa with enthusiasm, while sharing captivating anecdotes. The matcha preparation session was both fun and soothing. A perfect balance between culture, tradition and conviviality. I highly recommend this activity!

Highly recommend!  My family and I had a wonderful time with Hitomi. Even though it was a rainy day, the tour was fabulous. She is a thoughtful and excellent communicator and we had so much fun and laughter with her throughout the day. Beautiful temple, Matcha making experience is so informative and the Okonomiyaki the best we've ever had.

The tour was a highlight of our visit to Tokyo. Hitomi is a gifted tour guide; if we were staying longer, we would have tried to do some of the other tours she leads as well (or just have done this one again). We had a friendly group of six people from all over the world who enjoyed meeting and being with each other. Hitomi took us for a brief visit to the Buddhist temple next to the train station, then immediately across the street to the market. She suggested four samples and checked to be sure we were all okay with her selections. (They included sashimi, tamagoyaki [a rolled egg omelet], grilled tuna, and grilled eel.) Along the way, we visited some other stores in the market and sampled wasabi-flavored sesame seeds. We finished the time in the market with lunch at a sushi restaurant. It was worth it to have a guide, both to direct us to selected stalls and to have reserved tables at a good restaurant. Hitomi was friendly, fun, humorous, and easy to chat with. The whole tour felt like a half day with your best friends, even though we had all just met each other.

Hitomi was amazing!!! She was patient, informative, funny, and extremely down to earth! She gave great recommendations and made our bar crawl in Tokyo one of the highlights of our trip! Please book her for an unforgettable night!

We enjoyed the fish market trip vey much. The tour guide Hitomi was excellent. She was very friendly and eager to show us all the delicious seafood during the tour. We also got a chance to see the sky view of the  market and the harbor after the lunch.

We traveled to Japan for our Honey Moon. We booked this tour and it overcome our expectations.Our guide Hitomi was super nice and we were so lucky with her.She first showed us a temple and then we moved to Tsukiji market, she had a great knowledge of the places to go and taste some local food (Raw Tuna was our favorite 😋). We had a great morning and we ate a lot.What we liked the most was our conversations with Hitomi about the a culture and traditions. We learned a lot.We really recommend this tour! Hitomi was a fun tour guide and it was great way to explore Shinjiku. Shinjiku at night reminds one of NY and the bar seen scene is definitely popping here.

Our Asakusa cultural walk and matcha making tour was amazing.  We heard about Japanese customs and tasted three different Japanese foods in such a cultural significant and scenic part of time.   I highly recommend this tour and Hitomi.  

We had a wonderful tour from Hitomi! Between several unique for food and drink, and the cultural aspect of the temple, this was such an incredible tour! Hitomi was such a friendly presence and very knowledgeable about all of our stops! We even had several hiccups with our booking through Viatour getting cancelled last minute, but the Magical Trip customer support was able to help us rebook our tour back! We thought that it may be all just things you could look up online, but all of the food/drink experiences were private to just our group! Overall, it was such an awesome tour. I could not recommend a tour more for the Asakusa  area!

The market is very crowded, so we had to stand aside while our guide got the food, but the guide was very nice and knowledgeable. We were very happy to have taken a tour instead of trying to navigate the market on our own because she knew where all the best spots were to try things. We also had sushi at a VERY local spot that was incredibly fresh. Don’t skip this experience.

Our tour guide, Hitomi, was absolutely amazing!  She taught us about the cultural history of Harajuku, and customized the tour to meet every request that we had!  She was super flexible, which we greatly appreciated.  I was really looking forward to the okonomiyaki lunch, and it surpassed all our expectations!  The tour went by so quickly, we were sad when it was over.  The photo booth was super fun, it seemed like it would have been impossible to navigate without an experienced guide.  We have so many great memories now of our time in Harajuku, thank you so much Hitomi!

I had an amazing time on this tour! Hitomi was the perfect tour guide, guiding our group of 5 in and out of places to eat and drink like an expert. The selection of foods on the tour kept things interesting and with plenty of alcohol everyone got along well. After stopping off at the final location for some Sake tasting, the group went out to sing karaoke. The tour guide Hitomi joined in as well, and we got our first taste of local Karaoke. I only wish that the evening was longer, and that I could share the experience with more people!

I thoroughly enjoyed bar hopping in Shinjuku's vibrant nightlife. On a three-hour tour, we visited three different izakayas, savoring a variety of Japanese alcoholic drinks. The food at each spot was superb, and I learned fascinating things about Japanese culture and culinary traditions. Our guide, Hitomi, was incredibly cheerful and created a fun atmosphere. Thanks to her, choosing places and dishes was effortless, making for an unforgettable, enjoyable experience. This tour is the perfect way to fully appreciate a night in Shinjuku. I highly recommend it to everyone!

We got to take some beautiful pictures and Hitomi was very knowledgeable with the temple and the city and was able to answer all of our questions and make it a wonderful experience!
