Our guide was awesome! I am really late to write a review but she earned it! Her name is Rio, supper nice lady, tried to help us with our travel even though it wasn’t in her job description! She made us feel awesome and nice with the whole experience!

Was an incredible experience!! Rio-san was very clear and kind with the explanation during the tour, also we could speak some Japanese! I really appreciate all the tour and information gave by Rio-san, Miyajima was a beautiful place. Definitely would came back!

Me and my 15 Year old son had a wonderful time with Rio. She was very nice, adjusted perfectly to our wishes and knew everything about the sites we visited. Thanks a lot

Rio was amazing! Knowledgeable, kind, and funny. She was also very solicitous of our 85-year-old grandma and tailored the agenda so she could participate. We saw all the highlights and learned a lot. Highly recommend!

My Tour guide Rio was PHENOMENAL… I simply cannot put my daughter and my experience into words! Her attention to detail was incredible… she explained everything with a big smile on her face… she was extremely patient with my daughter, she had kind words as my daughter- who is 11 years old  started getting tired as the day went on… There are not enough words … this tour to Hiroshima was  definitely the highlight of my trip to Japan and it was all thanks to Rio!!I  Highly Recommend her. She is a keeper!!

We were so lucky to have been guided around Miyajima by the wonderful Rio! She took great care of us, and her friendliness and knowledge really added to the special experience. She was incredibly helpful with my goshuin collection, showing me where to receive them and communicating with the staff on my behalf. And she knows exactly where to get the best photos!  The tour included a delicious lunch and ice cream (very welcome in the sweltering heat!)Although it's not possible to see everything the island has to offer in the space of 6 hours, the itinerary was interesting and varied - definitely better than anything I could have planned myself. Highly recommend!

What an incredible guide Rio is! She is knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about sharing the history, culture, and spiritual traditions of Miyajima.We visited beautiful shrines and temples, wandered through hidden passages, listened to the chorus of cicadas in the forest, and enjoyed a peaceful lunch at a quiet local spot with delicious food. Every moment felt thoughtfully planned and unhurried.Rio made the day unforgettable with her warmth and enthusiasm. Thank you for an amazing experience—I couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Rio is a very good guide. She has wide knowledge of all things and she can explain things well. We had a wonderful time with her. I can recomend for families or group of friends.

It a was a nice tour with rio explaining and showing us the shrines and temple. She makes sure we were good (restroom break ect) and help take pictures of us. She was also kind enough to take us to get a drink at the Miyajima brewery and to the gift shop on the island.

We had an amazing tour with our guide Rio. She took her time explaining everything at the shrines, temples, and buildings. She was also incredibly patient when it came to pictures and the random spots for the scenery. We would have definitely walked past some of the more interesting parts without our guide telling us.

Had a fantastic evening of food and drink adventure with RIO, from the best pancake to an enjoyable pork sandwich plus unique sushi and a plump and jiggly desert we had a blast. RIO was lovely and really looked after us… thanks for a great time :)

Rio was an amazing tour guide who made it a great experience exploring Miyajima Island. The Torre gate is very impressive but I didn’t realise how much more there is to see, including the traditional buildings, temples, and beautiful scenery. This is now our favourite location in Japan, thanks to the care, food, knowledge and humour that Rio so kindly shared.

I was especially lucky to enjoy my tour of Miyajima with my amazing guide, Rio, as the only tourist. This allowed us to make a meaningful connection and gave me the chance to ask as many questions I wanted while Rio did a fantastic job of answering them. The tour was wonderfully insightful and took me places where there were less tourists more nature. Lunch was delicious, and you get the opportunity to dine in a hotel where Einstein once visited! Rio even took me somewhere to try Hiroshima Cola for the first time, which is very thoughtful and interesting (and delicious). Visiting Daishoin was the highlight, with beautiful gardens and rich history. Itsukushima island is beautiful, I couldn't recommend this tour enough. Thank you Rio for the everlasting memories!

Very interesting tour about the history and magic of Miyajima. The pace was great and Rio took us away from the crowds to a very interesting museum and through back streets to find the important shrines. We learnt a lot about the island and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Rio was very kind, and informative. Definitely recommend.

I was in Miyajima with my husband and friends on January 2, 2026 and our guide, Rio, accompanied us. Rio was immediately very friendly and helpful and tried to make us live the best experience possible! She recommended the boat tour to see the red torii up close in front of the temple, helped us collect the Goshuin, told us many curiosities about the island and its history and was kind enough to stop with us to chat and share the return trip beyond the scheduled end of the visit. She was also very patient with me who often stopped to take pictures! To make everything even more magical was the beautiful snowfall that surprised us in the afternoon. The meal included was very satisfying!Very positive experience! ☺️👍

Must do tour!  So special, the entire tour was seamless from starting with the navigation help to the entire experience.  I learned so much and so so many amazing things.  Overall truly terrific day.  My tour guide was so knowledgable and kind, ask for Rio as your guide too!

So many cultural, historical and culinary experiences to appreciate on Miyajima.Rio was so accommodating for all in the group and she clearly wanted everyone in the group to get the most from the day. So generous with her time and knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. One of the best tours I have done and will remember it for many many years .Thank you Rio!!

Went to the Miyajima island with Rio which was an amazing experience. We went to several temples and shrines and was told much of the history of the island.

My daughter and I visited Miyajima on a particularly rainy day. The train from Hiroshima station to the ferry terminal was running a reduced service due to flooding and heavy rains. We almost cancelled the tour, but decided at the last minute to take a cab and try to make it. The tour operator was responsive to my calls and was able to coordinate with the tour guide so that she would wait for us if we were late. In the end, we were the first to arrive and the tour started at 1000. Our guide, Rio, was great from the start. She was very up-beat and knowledgeable and kept us in high spirits, assuring us we would not miss anything from the tour despite the rain. She even helped me get an umbrella upon arrival at Miyajima. She kept good pace throughout the tour and took group pictures for us, and helped us get the best spots for taking memorable pictures from the many iconic spots in the island. I got a lot out of her explanation of each of the temples and shrines visited. All the shrines and temples in the tour have a unique charm to them, but I found the last, Senjyokaku, the most intimate and peaceful. The lunch in the tour was delicious; my favorite was the fried oysters. Also, coffee and sweets at the end of the tour was a very nice way to finish out visit to the island. Lastly, Rio helped all group members figure out the transportation back to Hiroshima Station, guiding some group members to the local JR station and helping us use the tram to get to the  Peace Memorial Park. She also gave us some solid recommendations on what to do there with the time we had before the train back to Osaka. Loved the tour and the guide and would recommend doing it.

I ended up being the only person on the tour and Saori was so pleasant and awesome to hang with for half a day. I learnt so much about the island, Japanese culture and really connected! Delicious lunch and even a bonus tea ceremony! Would recommend to go, and if you are solo you might be lucky for a one of a kind tour!

Rio was the best tour guide. So welcoming and genuine. Do not miss out on a Rio tour. You won’t regret it. The attention to detail was amazing and she was so informative.

Rio was fun, interesting and always courteous. She ensured that all of us were safe and constantly asked us if we wanted to see or do specific events.  She was interested in  us, asked us about our professions, home, experiences and travel. She readily answered our questions and if didn’t know the answers, she looked for resources to help her find answers to our questions. Rio was easy going, extremely friendly and we all related to her. One of the best experiences I have had with a tour guide as we related so well with her.

Great tour. Very friendly tour guides who have a lot of knowledge on the history of the island and what is best there. I liked the early tour because it avoided a lot of the peak crowds.

Amazing time with Rio! She went out of her way to show us the best of Miyajima. We had great views from the observatory and experienced so much at the shrines and temples. It was the most amazing tour I ever did in my life, all thanks to my dear friend Rio-sama, she was so amazing and helpful and kind and she guided us so well and took us out out of her work time and she really made this tour so amazing, I couldn’t ever thank her enough, I never stopped having fun on this tour.

We had three stops - one typical bar with local Hiroshima food (just six seats, we filled it almost completely), then a sake trial with 12 different sakes (still feeling somewhat dizzy from it) and in the end a very special sushi bar with fish we had never tried before. Rio was a very pleasant hostess who told us all sorts of stories about Hiroshima and herself, a very entertaining evening! Highly recommended!

What a great day!  This trip was awesome, we say such beautiful sites and met such lovely people - even the pouring rain could not spoil this experience.  Our guides Kaz and Rio could not have been more helpful!  We learned so much from them and they went out if their way to make sure all our needs were catered for.  Lunch was delicious and an afternoon cup of macha really did the trick -What views we saw!  This trip will stay in my memory for a long long time!  I highly recommend both the trip and these two lovely people to show you around!  Thank you!

Great walking tour. There is a lot of walking but the view at the end is the light at the end of the tunnel. You will see stunning views of Hiroshima. Thank you Rio for being an excellent guide. Hope to see you in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 

I went on a solo tour and Rio was my guide. Initially I was surprised as I was the only guest on this tour. I thought it would be a little weird but it wasn't. Rio did a great job of keeping the conservationist going, explaining things, and helping to translate between myself and any staff we interacted with at restaurants and bars.After the trip, we kept in touch and she gave me some things to look out for in my future stops on my trip, and other things to do/see next time in Hiroshima. Rio is a great guide and a great resource for everything Hiroshima and Japan.

Yuji is a great tour guide. He had lots of interesting details to tell about the Hiroshima bombing, really took the time to show us around and at the end gave some really nice additional tips on where to eat and what else to do in/around town. Rio was still learning, but we’re sure you’ll get there with the help of Yuji. Thank you Yuji and Rio!
