Hiro, our tour guide to Miyajima Island , was great: very kind, friendly and competent. We had an unforgettable time in a place of extraordinary cultural wealth. Strongly recommend, without hesitation.

This was one of my favorite tours. Not only did it include a traditional Japanese Lunch,  but also a delicious soft serve ice cream from a local cafe. Hiro was a very knowledgeable, sweet, and patient guide throughout the 5-6 hours we had together.I highly recommend this tour! Please NOTE: The ferry and island is very crowded with tourists.

Hiro was great!  We had a wonderful time over the 5 hrs visiting Miyajima island! We took a ferry, saw shrines, temples, had an authentic Japanese lunch and walked through a beautiful forest and gardens! We even ended our tour with a coffee ice cream and shopping! So fun and Hiro was very informative! You must try this tour!

The Expierence was highly valued and our Tour Guide Hiro was exceptional from start till finish. The guidance and extra information provided during the exhibit section was greatly appreciated. The actual exhibit was not too busy around midday. There is a lot of reading.Would recommend this to others but definitely bring comfy shoes.

Fantastic experience, beautiful place to visit. The best was our guide Hiro. We unfortunetly arrived late but she still waited for us, gave us a lot of very  interesting information all way through. She was kind, polite and very well informed. Thank you Hiro!

We met Hiro at the station as promised, we had a group of 6 in total and 4 were late so we waited for them which was very gracious of her. There's a 7/11 as you get off the train at Miyajimaguchi and just a short walk to the ferry port. The ferry runs every 10 minutes or so and with a JR pass you only need to pay the ¥100 tax which is about 50p per person. There's lots to see on the island and this tour takes you up into the Forrest, stopping at the main shrines, Tori gate, pagoda, stopping for lunch, and back down through the shopping area, stopping for an ice-cream and then back to the ferry. There are a few deer along the way, and lots of interesting buildings. Hiro was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable overall and we talked lots about other aspects of Japanese life as well as giving us historical information about the Island. Whilst it is a walking tour and somewhat uphill in places it's very accessible and there's plenty of time to stroll.

We really enjoyed this tour and I am so glad we chose it. Our guide, Hiro, was absolutely wonderful! She took us to various places that we probably wouldn't have seen if just doing our own thing and she provided so much history and context. The museum and history can be very sad and heavy so it was a much appreciated that Hiro also included some lighter & fun elements to the tour. Hiro did a great job leading our group to the Torii gate and through the many Shrines and Temples on Miyajima Island.  She explained the meaning of many of the processes that adherents of their religions (Buddhism and Shintoism) participate in so that I came away with an understanding of of what was happening.  In addition, she took us to a delicious lunch at a local inn and we got to sample the maple leaf shaped pastries with various fillings, a specialty of the area. A exciting day of sightseeing and a learning experience.

A sad but valuable tour. Hiro was a lovely guide that took us through the significant sites and museum associated with the devastating bombing of Hiroshima.

Hiro was an excellent guide. The small tour group and comfortable pace made it like a stroll with friends rather than a tour. Hiro was able to answer questions we had but she didn’t labour us with information overload. Best of all it wasn’t a  “tour guide with a stick” style day and we could all go at our own pace splitting up and meeting up again at our leisure being able to see things that interested our own tastes, yet keeping easily on time schedule. This was a walking tour with uneven steps and climbs but was easy for people with average health. I would recommend slip on shoes rather than lace ups to make it easier to enter places that require you to remove shoes to enter. Thankyou Hiro.

Our tour guide Hiro was very sweet. She explained everything in detail and was very informational. Any questions we had were answered in detail as well. The pace was perfect, not too fast so we can enjoy everything, but also not too slow. We also had a meal included which was delicious. I recommend!

Miyajima is a very special place. Our guide knew the site very well, having taken schoolchildren there many times. We saw Shinto and Buddhist temples and deer. The lunch was very good. We walked along the sea and then up the hill through nature paths.

Hiroshima is a city with an amazing tradition around peacemaking and memory, unlike any other city I know. But to really understand that, you do need a local who understands not just the history, but who has a personal connection with the historical experience of the people living there. HIroko is a perfect guide in that way. She has a very wide knowledge of Hiroshima's history and all of the facts you need to understand the place. But she is also very kind and thoughtful, and adds touches to the tour like making origami and eating local food, which go far beyond a 'tour.' She offers real local hospitality, in fact. Definitely take this walking tour.

Hiro expertly guided us around the key sites including ones you wouldn’t find unless you had done a lot of research. She shared key stories that help your understanding of the story of Hiroshima and the Atomic Bomb, the true impact of the bomb on people, and efforts towards peace and these weapons never being used again.

We had a deeply impactful tour with Hiro today, who was a knowledgeable and sensitive guide. Hiro allowed us to take our time, she answered our questions, came around the museum with us adding additional insights into the incredibly moving exhibition, and gave recommendations of other places to visit and restaurants to try.  It was very helpful having someone guiding us through the process of visiting these important memorials and museums in Hiroshima.  The lunch was delicious, and it felt meaningful to participate in making the paper cranes at the end of the tour, and either flying them or keeping them. I would highly recommend this tour.
