Kanazawa Forus

Kanazawa Forus is a shopping mall popular with tourists from overseas and the younger generation. What's abundant are relatively inexpensive apparel products, sundries, accessories, and other stores.

It's highly recommended for people who like shopping for many inexpensive items.

Also, the abundance of Japanese pop culture shops is an attractive point. You can get goods from various characters such as Sanrio, Pokémon, EVANGELION, and more. Many items can only be obtained in Japan, so please take these precious goods back to your home country.

Kanazawa Hyakubangai

Kanazawa Hyakubangai
Source:Official website

Kanazawa Hyakubangai is a shopping mall directly connected to the station concourse. It's divided into three areas: Anto, Anto West, and Rinto. Each has a different atmosphere, so I'll introduce the characteristics of each area.

Anto

Anto is an area where souvenir products gather. A wide variety of souvenirs are available, from traditional souvenirs such as wagashi, local sake, and crafts to sundries like pens and socks that are characteristic of Kanazawa.

It's located right next to the Shinkansen ticket gate and is very accessible, so I always use it to purchase things I forgot to buy just before leaving Kanazawa.

Anto West

Anto West is an area where restaurants gather. You can eat standard Japanese dishes such as ramen, soba, gyudon, and sushi, so it's perfect for having your last meal in Kanazawa.

The place I visit most often in Anto West is Ekiben-Dokoro KANAZAWA. You can purchase bento boxes made with Kanazawa ingredients. When I'm cutting it close for my train or Shinkansen time, my routine is to buy a bento at Ekiben-Dokoro KANAZAWA and eat it on board.

Rinto

Rinto is an area where fashion, sundries, cafes, and more gather, and is the most suitable area for shopping in Kanazawa Hyakubangai. A wide range of stores line up, but particularly many apparel shops for women.

Since it's directly connected to the station, an attractive point is that you can play until the last minute without having to think about transportation to the station or travel time.

I go to the station with plenty of time and play in Rinto until just before my train time.

Cross Gate Kanazawa

Cross Gate Kanazawa

Cross Gate Kanazawa is a food theme park with the concept of "Premium Foods and Restaurants." Stores that use Kanazawa's specialty products and can only be eaten in Kanazawa line up.

A wide range of stores are concentrated, including hamburgers and steaks using Kanazawa's wagyu beef, sushi where you can eat fresh seafood, and more. There are also stores where you can enjoy local sake and craft beer, so it's also recommended for people who like alcohol.

This is a place I strongly recommend to people who particularly emphasize "food" during their travels. For me, who loves eating, it's like paradise.

Kanazawa Hakomachi

Kanazawa Hakomachi
Source:Official website

The keywords for Kanazawa Hakomachi are "beauty," "food," "health," and "hospitality." On the first floor, sweets shops line up.

Each shop has its own refined atmosphere, whether stylish, homey, or cute, and sells sweets that are the best in both appearance and taste. It's a very "beautiful" space that's fun just to walk around.

On the second floor, restaurants where you can enjoy Kanazawa-style food line up. My most recommended restaurant, coil, is also on the second floor of Kanazawa Hakomachi. coil is a restaurant where you can experience making a type of sushi called makizushi yourself.

Kanazawa Hakomachi is also a perfect place to enjoy Kanazawa's food.

KANAZAWA M'ZA

KANAZAWA M'ZA
Source:Google Maps

KANAZAWA M'ZA's attractive point is that it's well-stocked with Kanazawa's famous sweets, local sake, crafts, and more. In particular, an attractive point is that you can purchase traditional crafts such as Wajima nuri (Wajima lacquerware).

Among the various crafts, my recommendation is plates using gold leaf, which is a specialty product of Kanazawa. The attractive point is that while they are brilliant, they create a calm and chic atmosphere.

KANAZAWA M'ZA also has a wide range of stores including fashion, cosmetics, lifestyle (furniture and daily sundries, etc.). There's so much to see that you could spend a whole day there.

Shopping Facilities Around Korinbo and Katamachi Where You Can Also Enjoy Nightlife

Clasp Place Korinbo

Clasp Place Korinbo

Clasp Place Korinbo features a wide range of stores including general goods shops, apparel shops, bookstores, and movie theaters.

One of the attractive points of Clasp Place Korinbo is its fulfilling and exciting events. When I visited (November 2, 2025), a Persian carpet exhibition was being held.

Starting from November 28, 2025, a VR horror attraction will be held. As someone who loves horror, I was disappointed that my visit wasn't a month later. Of course, I was very satisfied to see Persian carpets that I don't usually get to see.

Clasp Place Korinbo is highly recommended for people who want to enjoy activities along with shopping, making it a perfect destination for Kanazawa shopping 2026.

Katamachi Kirara

Katamachi Kirara
Source:Wikipedia

Katamachi Kirara is a small shopping mall where you can purchase fashion, general goods, daily necessities, and other essentials for daily life.

What I really want you to enjoy at Katamachi Kirara is the amusement section. You can enjoy prize games and capsule toys. Regarding prize games, there are plenty of lower-difficulty options such as mini-cranes where you can win small snacks, so even people new to crane games or children can enjoy them.

As for capsule toys, there are so many varieties that I love the time I spend walking around wondering which one to try.

Katamachi Kirara is the perfect place to enjoy modern Japanese culture during your Kanazawa shopping 2026 experience.

CoCoTTo KANAZAWA

CoCoTTo KANAZAWA
Source:Google Maps

CoCoTTo KANAZAWA is a shopping mall where you can feel a stronger sense of atmosphere than anywhere else. My two favorite shops are "SPINS" and "VILLAGE VANGARD".

Both shops have many items displayed in a cluttered manner, packed tightly together. The stores are filled with products throughout, and there are dimly lit areas, so I always walk through the stores with a sense of adventure.

The attractive point unique to CoCoTTo KANAZAWA is that you can enjoy a subcultural and cluttered atmosphere completely different from other stores.

Kohrinbo Atrio

Kohrinbo Atrio
Source:Wikipedia

Kohrinbo Atrio is a place that offers everything from luxury brands like COACH and GUCCI to shops where you can enjoy Kanazawa's local character.

Particularly recommended is Shijimaya-Honpo. You can purchase Kabura Zushi, one of Kanazawa's local dishes. This is a type of dish where fish is lacto-fermented with salt and rice. In the past, it was eaten as a feast on special occasions. The taste is a bit strong, but it's definitely guaranteed to be a good experience.

The attractive point of Kohrinbo Atrio is that you can browse luxury brands while simultaneously experiencing things unique to Kanazawa, making it an essential stop for Kanazawa shopping 2026.

PREGO

PREGO
Source:Facebook

PREGO is a shopping mall with an attractive atmosphere reminiscent of European streets. The stylish atmosphere of PREGO makes it a popular place for adult dates. For example, "SHISHA CAFE & BAR CHIMNEY" is an optimal place to have a leisurely conversation with someone special.

Unfortunately, PREGO is scheduled to close in March 2026. However, events are lined up one after another until the closing period.

For example, starting from November 4, 2025, illumination using approximately 11,000 light bulbs, the largest scale ever, began. There's a high possibility that closing sales will also begin soon, so there's a strong chance you can shop affordably.

Please visit PREGO to experience something you can only experience now as part of your Kanazawa shopping 2026 adventure.

Imai Kinpaku Main Store

Imai Kinpaku Main Store
Source:Official website

Imai Kinpaku Main Store is a place where you can experience Kanazawa's specialty product, gold leaf, from various angles. For example, you can eat soft-serve ice cream topped with gold leaf, observe gold leaf craftsmen at work (held irregularly), and see a well decorated with gold.

What I enjoyed most was the gold leaf application experience. When you actually try it, you can feel the thinness of the gold leaf, said to be 1/10,000th of a millimeter, and the delicacy of applying gold leaf.

There are simple options available, so even people like me who aren't skilled with their hands and children can enjoy it.

Kanazawa Night Foodie Tour

After walking around shopping all day and getting tired, heal yourself in the evening with the exquisite gourmet food of Kanazawa, a city of fine cuisine. Kanazawa Night Foodie Tour takes you to three restaurants while enjoying Kanazawa's specialty products and traditional dishes.

What made me happiest about Kanazawa Night Foodie Tour was the ability to compare different Japanese sakes. When you compare them, the differences in flavor become clear. Also, a nice point is that a Japanese guide accompanies you and can teach you tips on how to enjoy sake.
