How about this event to enjoy the lingering atmosphere of summer in September when it's still hot? The "Starry Sky Summer Festival" is a summer festival held inside a planetarium dome. Once inside, images of a starry sky and fireworks are alternately projected at 20-minute intervals, allowing you to enjoy a romantic mood under the summer night sky.

There are also many festival food and game stalls, and lottery games and shooting games with luxurious prizes are popular even among adults. My recommendations are limited foods with cute names and delicious taste, such as "Fireworks Float," "Stardust Candy Apple," and "Full Moon Jelly."

Another attractive point is that admission is free and you can enter and exit at any time you like. It's also recommended to stop by between shopping in Ginza or during free time before tours.

"A Guide to the Wonderful World of Gods, Buddhas, and Humans" being held at Seikado Bunko Art Museum is a unique exhibition that delves into gods, buddhas, and people depicted in ancient art. It examines the hidden stories in the background by focusing on the depicted poses, expressions, and conventions.

The interesting point is that it focuses on various gods, buddhas, and people, including characters in yamato-e (paintings with themes of waka poetry and stories) and high-ranking Buddhist monks. This event, which serves as an introductory exhibition to paintings, is explained in an easy-to-understand way by two main characters, "Prince Shotoku" and "Pang Lingzhao."

This is an event recommended for a wide range of ages that can be especially enjoyed by people who are not familiar with paintings! These Ginza Events September 2025 offer tourists an incredible opportunity to experience Japan's rich cultural heritage in one of Tokyo's most prestigious districts.

170820251815_image7.png
Source:PR TIMES

Twin artists Akiko and Masako Takada create works using familiar materials and everyday scenery. A unique point is that their exhibitions incorporate display methods that take advantage of each venue's characteristics.

"Perspectives: The World As Seen By" scheduled at SHISEIDO GALLERY is inspired by Chinese Confucian teachings that are the origin of SHISEIDO's company name. Based on the teaching "How wonderful is the virtue of the earth! All things are born from here," approximately 20 works including new pieces are scheduled for display.

My recommendations are "Strata," which uses stacked books to represent geological layers, and "Timepiece," which expresses the concept of time through a broken hourglass.

Please experience everyday life from a fresh perspective.

Source:Tokyo Art Beat

"Modern French Landscape Paintings - From Corot to Matisse" currently being held at Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum is a painting exhibition focused on landscape paintings in French modern art. It traces the changing history of landscape painting through 10 paintings and 1 print work.

The transition from realism to impressionism to post-impressionism is fascinating, and I recommend viewing with attention to this point.

The point I want you to notice is the different ways light is incorporated when depicting nature in various locations including Paris streets, various regions of France, and Switzerland. Please also pay attention to the works of Camille Corot, who faithfully depicted nature and overturned the conventional concepts of landscape painting.

The event runs only until September 7, so I recommend adjusting your itinerary if you're interested.

In October, when autumn deepens, a must-see event featuring Oriental paintings designated as national treasures and important cultural properties will be held.

Also, in connection with the currently ongoing "EXPO2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo," works exhibited at past world expositions will also be displayed. My recommendation is the giant painting by Japanese painter Yosai Kikuchi (1788-1878). Please view this work that could become a "future national treasure."

This is a chance to view paintings that are rarely seen all at once. If you're visiting Ginza in September, how about adjusting your schedule to stay until October and experiencing this precious art?
