Even today, the Bunkyo Azalea Festival is held every year from April to May, and approximately 100 varieties and 3,000 azalea plants bloom profusely on the shrine grounds. In the sloped garden on the south side, flowers trimmed into round shapes line up, creating a colorful landscape.

In Horikiri, where the atmosphere of Tokyo's downtown area remains, Irises have been loved since the latter half of the Edo era. Even today, at the end of May, approximately 6,000 Iris plants bloom at Horikiri Iris Garden, quietly captivating people's hearts.
During the same period, Irises also reach their peak viewing season at nearby Mizumoto Park. Approximately 14,000 Iris plants bloom magnificently in flower beds maintained along the river, and the gradation from purple to white colors the water surface.

About 300 plum blossom trees are planted at Yushima Tenjin, and they bloom all at once in February. The shrine grounds are enveloped in the fragrance of spring and bustling with many people. During the one-month festival period, events such as tea service, traditional performing arts, and product exhibitions are held, allowing you to experience good old Japanese culture.
It's close to Ueno Toshogu, which I introduced earlier, so please enjoy flower viewing while exploring the streets.

Kasai Rinkai Park Daffodil Festival

Kasai Rinkai Park is a vast park located in Tokyo's waterfront area. It's a park with flower beds where approximately 57,000 of Japan's largest daffodils bloom while being located in the city, and the beautiful white petals create a refreshing scenery that doesn't feel like winter.
In February, a festival is held where you can enjoy daffodils even more. In 2024, in addition to stages such as concerts by locals, pony riding experiences and canoe experiences were held, attracting many families and tourists.
Kasai Rinkai Park is a park with a Ferris wheel and aquarium where you can enjoy yourself all day. It's an event recommended for families and couples that brightens up Tokyo in winter.
