This festival held at Daienji Temple is a historically significant event that revived in 1984 the spectacle "Chrysanthemum dolls," which developed after the Edo period when samurai were active. At the venue, you can appreciate displays of beautiful dolls adorned with chrysanthemum flowers and grass.
Also, my favorite point about this event is that you can enjoy chrysanthemum-themed gourmet food exclusive to this festival, such as Inari sushi with chrysanthemum flowers mixed in vinegar and Japanese sake with floating chrysanthemum flowers. You can enjoy the unique experience of tasting chrysanthemum flowers that are colorful both in appearance and taste.

During this festival, my favorite way to spend time is to leisurely watch the performances by local elementary and middle school fife and drum corps, brass bands, and dance groups in the solemn atmosphere of the historic Nezu Shrine.
Since the "Nezu/Sendagi Shitamachi Festival" is held when the heat has subsided and the weather is pleasant, please enjoy the festival while strolling through the shrine precincts.
