Akihabara Events November 2025: Complete Guide to Anime, Gaming & Tech Festivals

Tokyo events Published: Nov 8, 2025

Akihabara was originally famous as an electronics district dealing with home appliances and electrical components, but since the late 1990s, stores selling anime, manga, and games began to increase, and it became known as a mecca for pop culture.

While Akihabara is bustling with tourists even on weekdays, more people visit on Sunday afternoons when the main "Chuo-dori Street" becomes a pedestrian paradise (vehicles are prohibited and only pedestrians can use it).

In Akihabara, where various cultures intermingle, diverse events are held thanks to its convenient transportation and easy accessibility. This time, we will introduce Akihabara Event November 2025 and other events you can enjoy centered around Akihabara, including highlights, event dates, and access to venues.

DigiGame Expo is an event where doujin games (games independently produced by individuals or small groups with the same hobby) and indie games (games made with low budgets and small teams not affiliated with corporations) are exhibited and sold.

With over 200 participating groups, you can actually experience various genres of games and directly communicate with the creators. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, so feel free to ask creators about gameplay tips and behind-the-scenes production stories, and immerse yourself in the world of creative games that major companies don't offer!

Doujinshi (magazines created and published at personal expense by individuals or groups with the same hobby) created by passionate fans are worth seeing.

Since doujinshi don't aim for profit and can reflect personal preferences, they can tackle niche themes and are full of engaging content. The works created with attention to every detail are so captivating that even those who aren't fans of the themes will find themselves absorbed! Doujinshi are rarely available in bookstores, so be sure to check them out.

Original Goods Perfect as Souvenirs are Also Sold

At the venue, goods that are usually only available at official stores and event-limited original merchandise are also sold. Acrylic stands and pin badges designed with popular characters are perfect as souvenirs! Original goods are sometimes announced in advance on social media like X, so if you're interested, check them out.

Everything is so attractive that it's fun to compare various group booths and search for your favorite original goods.

TAMASHII NATION 2025 is an annual figure festival hosted by BANDAI SPIRITS, which handles adult-oriented products from popular toy manufacturer BANDAI, and is held at three venues: Bellesalle Akihabara, Akihabara UDX, and TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO.

On the 1st floor of Bellesalle Akihabara, you can see popular Jump characters such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Demon Slayer, and on the B1 floor, you can see Super Sentai series exhibitions such as Ultraman and Kamen Rider.

Combining all venues, over 1,100 figures are exhibited by floor, and you can enjoy each world. Many new and unreleased works are also exhibited, so figure fans must see this.

I visited with an anime-loving friend before, and we were captivated by the high level of completion of the figures crafted with attention to every detail. The lifelike figures give you a sense of realism as if they might start moving at any moment!

Must-See Events Other Than Pop Culture in Akihabara and Surrounding Areas

Let's also pay attention to must-see events other than pop culture held in Akihabara and its surrounding areas.

At gourmet events unique to Kanda, where famous curry restaurants gather, and at special discount markets held by the textile wholesale district, you'll have the chance to discover new charms of the Akihabara area.

Kanda Curry Grand Prix Championship Finals 2025

Kanda Curry Grand Prix 2025 – Championship Finals is Japan's largest curry event held in Kanda, which is easily accessible from Akihabara. Twenty restaurants selected from Kanda, known as a fiercely competitive curry district, compete for the title of Japan's number one based on visitor votes.

As a curry lover myself, I've participated before and compared four different varieties from the uniquely diverse curry menu, including katsu curry, medicinal herb curry, and soup curry. The curry portions are small and easy to compare, so you can challenge yourself to try various famous restaurants' flavors.

At the venue, you can not only eat curry and vote, but also enjoy curry goods sales, stamp rallies, and event shows. This is an event I definitely want curry lovers to participate in.

Iwamotocho & Higashi-Kanda Family Bazaar

Iwamotocho & Higashi-Kanda Family Bazaar

Iwamotocho & Higashi-Kanda Family Bazaar is an Akihabara event in November 2025 where long-established wholesalers in the textile wholesale districts of Iwamotocho and Higashi-Kanda, which are adjacent to Akihabara, sell clothing, accessories, daily necessities, and more at wholesale prices along the streets.

Previously, this was an event that only employees working in Iwamotocho and their families or acquaintances could attend, but as word spread about being able to purchase quality items at low prices, it became open to the general public as well.

Various products are lined up tightly along the street, and searching for your desired items feels like going on a treasure hunt! In addition to product sales, there are also many food stalls, so I recommend strolling around while enjoying street food.
