Kyoto & Eastern Kansai

Description

Riding on a traditional Japanese rickshaw with EBISUYA is one of the most popular activities for tourists in all of Japan. Unlike with a taxi or bus, with a rickshaw you can see all of the great secret destinations and explore like a local. Our drivers in their traditional Japanese uniforms will lead an exciting adventure where you can learn about amazing places to eat and of course about the culture and history of the town. It's time to go beyond the guidebook. An EBISUYA Rickshaw tour is a must if you are in Japan!

What You Can Expect

Visit a handful of temples in detail throughout your extensive 2 hour tour. Setting off at the scenic Togetsukyo bridge, along the bustling main street, into the serene bamboo forest, the first temple visit is the Jojakkoji Temple. After passing by the well preserved rural scenery from the Edo period you will leave the beaten track and enjoy the quiet, traditional streets of Arashiyama, as well as a visit to the Adashinonenbutsu-ji temple.
Besides visiting the popular places such as the bamboo forest and the Rakushisha building, this rickshaw tour also covers the large area to the north. Here, as part of the national cityscape preservation project, this district of townhouses from the Edo period line the streets. In addition, a guided tour of two different temples are included, which makes this tour absolutely perfect for those, who want to enjoy Sagano to its fullest.
***Expecting mothers in their first 16 weeks of pregnancy are not permitted to ride a rickshaw*** - Our rickshaw seats usually fit two adults. Should you prefer a rickshaw to yourself, please contact us.
