Asakusa at night is a great place to hear Japanese ghost stories. It can be really spooky. Melissa is a wonderful story teller! And she had many more interesting things to tell about the places in Asakusa. I got really interested now in learning more about Japanese mythology! :D

Creator of this Experience

I felt there wasn't a really good tour that really covered more of the history of Japan in terms of ghosts, ghost stories and ghouls and other worldly creatures. We have created a tour that really delves into the background of Japanese horror stories and shows you some of the creepiest sights near the former pleasure quarters of the Yoshiwara district. The final cherry on top is a visit to a very peculiar cafe/shiza bar that has some of the strangest drinks around.

  • Was a nice tour! I went because I was interested in learning about ghosts, the guide told many great stories including the origin of The Grudge ghost. At one point I scared the guide instead so we end up being all scared at the end of the tour. Melisa our guide, was very nice and friendly.
